Au ZH, October 28, 2008 – Von Roll Holding AG, one of Switzerland's longest established industrial companies, reconfirmed its position as global market leader in insulation products, systems and services in the third quarter of 2008. In addition, the takeover of Enerco, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of power transmission and distribution solutions, has paved the way for the future.

Group sales increased to CHF 516 million, up 12 % compared with the same period last year. Factoring out exchange rate effects, the rate of growth was over 18 %. Order intake increased by 9 % to CHF 542 million. The company’s equity ratio amounted to 74 % at the end of the third quarter.

The Electrical and Industrial segments once again posted above-average growth. The Electrical segment increased sales by 11 % to CHF 392 million, while order intake grew by 7 % to CHF 414 million. The Industrial segment posted a 15 % rise in sales to CHF 124 million and a 16 % increase in order intake to CHF 127 million. Consolidation of Enerco will start from the fourth quarter of 2008.

"The continued growth, which is once again above the market average, is evidence that our core-business expansion strategy is sustainably bearing fruit and that the slowing economy has not yet affected our markets. The takeover of Enerco will allow us to better leverage growth potential within the fast-growing energy market. We are on course for meeting our targets," says Thomas Limberger, Chairman and CEO of Von Roll.
